Apple Loyalty – Will Users Upgrade to The New iPhone 11 This Fall?

The iPhone 11 rumor mill has well and truly been at work these past few months. With just a few weeks to go until Apple new device is actually announced, tech buy-back site and refurbished re-seller, Decluttr asked smartphone owners what they thought this new launch would bring, and also how loyal iPhone users would be to the Apple brand…

What is the iPhone 11?

While analysts are viewing the iPhone 11 as only an incremental update, consumers who took part in the survey didn’t seem to agree, or understand what’s to come from Apple in September when the new device is announced.

Despite this, one in four iPhone owners still plan to upgrade to the iPhone 11 when it’s released, regardless of the lack of innovation and updates. While 82% of people considering purchase stated that even with the few rumoured updates to the phone, intent to purchase hadn’t changed or had actually increased in some cases.

Apple and 5G

In relation to 5G, it’s been widely reported that Apple won’t release a 5G enabled phone until 2020, however, 64% of iPhone users don’t know when Apple will be launching a 5G device, and some believe that Apple already offer one.

In addition to this, those surveyed weren’t too sure what 5G actually was. 5G is the newest fifth generation mobile network that is replacing the current 4G technology. 5G is set to be faster and more reliable, with greater capacity and lower response times than 4G. However, 28% of respondents believed that 5G would offer increased data storage and space, whilst 16% stated it would improve screen resolution. Only 25% stated that it was important to own a 5G enabled device.
