In 2017, Samsung launched the Galaxy S8 to widespread critical acclaim. It was a much-needed boost for the Korean giants, whose reputation took a big hit after the Galaxy Note 7 recall.
Later that year, Samsung returned to the range that caused them so much trouble. The Galaxy Note 8 first appeared at Samsung’s ‘Unwrapped’ event on August 23 and went some way to fixing Samsung’s reputation.
The Galaxy Note 8's headline feature is a 6.3 inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display, the largest Samsung screen to date.
Design-wise, the Galaxy Note 8 looks almost identical to the Galaxy S8 – although the screen looks slightly larger thanks to even narrower top and bottom bezels.
The Galaxy Note 8 boasts a lot of power too, with a Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 chipset with 6GB of RAM and 64GB to 128GB of memory.
It also includes all of the features we know and love from the Galaxy S8, including wireless charging, dust and water resistance and Samsung’s virtual assistant Bixby. And, of course, the now Note standard S-Pen.
One thing is for sure: the Galaxy Note 8 isn’t cheap. It costs around $800 - $1000, although it could cost even more.
